The heat. The beaches. The nightlife. These are just a few of the things that make Miami, Florida one of the most popular vacation destinations in the world. These days, Miami seems to be shedding its reputation as a getaway for the over 60 crowd, and the city is seeing more and more millennials flocking to its warm waters. Here are some reasons millennials love Miami.
During the summer months, Miami gets hot hot hot, but the winters tend to be more mild, making it the perfect climate for those trying to escape the arctic temperatures of the north. Due to the warm weather, Florida has a reputation for being the hotspot for older folks to migrate to after retirement, but it’s also popular among the millennial population for the very same reason. It just goes to show that people of all ages can appreciate the subtropical Miami temperatures.
Location, Location, Location
There’s no denying that Miami has some of the most amazingly beautiful homes in the country. I visited Miami a few years ago and got the chance to take a boat tour of movie stars’ homes on Star Island, and I was blown away by the glitz and glam of the houses I saw. While most of us can’t afford a house on Star Island, there are plenty of more affordable Miami neighborhoods for millennials to choose from. The state of Florida is relatively affordable compared to many other states, prompting a new wave of millennials to purchase Miami real estate.
Creative Job Opportunities
This past year, Miami has seen an influx of young people flock to the city in search of employment. Social media jobs have really taken off in the last year or so, and many of these “influencers” happen to be based in Miami. Instagram is one of the top platforms used by social media influencers to promote their work, whether it be fitness, fashion, or lifestyle. Compared to bigger markets like New York and Los Angeles, Miami has many of the same career opportunities in coveted fields, without the stress of everyday big city life.
