Hello,

I hope to travel to Europe this summer with Busabout and I have a question about checking in at each hostel.

When we exit the bus and check-in at a hostel, are there 30 plus people standing in line waiting to be checked in to the hostel? Are the lines generally long to check in?

yeah man,, sometimes it take 15-20 mins to check everyone in. make sure you get off the bus quickly. haha

Yes and no...everyone checks in at the same time, but it is usually smooth sailing... The guide will have you fill out a pre-registration form and then call the Hostel to let them know when and how many people are arriving. The Hostels are used to us showing up Every other day on their doorstep so they have extra staff on and have streamlined the process. For example they will hop on the coach and run through everything together once rather than individually. Some places will call you by name and give you a key, other places you swap your Busabout pass for the key and then just pay later.

One thing that you can do to make your life easier and check-in faster is to book on the Mybusabout site. Then the hostel knows that your booking is with busabout and they will...
1) Try and keep you with other Busabout people
2) Be ready for you when Big Blue turns up!
3) Have room and key ready

just wondering when checking in do the staff speak english,
i guess most of them are travellers as well

There should be a speed-check-in competition between the hostels!
